OATF History

The first Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair was officially opened on 26 August 2000 by the Founding President of the Republic of Namibia, His Excellency Dr. Sam Nujoma.

Since its inception, OATF has grown from a regional showcase into a national and international hub of trade excellence. Its mission has always been to provide a platform that bridges local businesses with regional and global markets while fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive growth.

Today, the OATF is recognized as a legacy event shaping Namibia’s economic landscape, giving entrepreneurs and corporations alike the chance to explore new markets, expand partnerships, and contribute to national development.

The fair is hosted at the Ongwediva Trade Fair Centre, a modern facility strategically located to provide excellent infrastructure, services, and accessibility for both exhibitors and visitors. This makes OATF not only a marketplace but also a meeting point for cultures, industries, and generations.
